Under renovation

The Science Centre Tietomaa has closed its doors for the duration of the renevation. The Science Centre will open its doors in summer 2026.

In 2026, history and the future will come together in a new way

The Science Center Tietomaa closed at the end of July due to renovation and  construction. The doors to Tietomaa will open again in 2026, and a completely new entity is being planned for that. Entertaining and enthusiasm for science will remain the cornerstones of the operation in the future.

Tietomaa, which operated in the old Åström industrial area in Myllytulli until 1988, closed at the end of July for renovations. At the same time, in connection with the renovation, the adjacent theater building with the glass corridors leading to it will be demolished and the Loggia building, which won the architecture competition, will be erected there.

In 2026, it is planned to open a completely new concept in Finland in the completed premises, which combines both a museum and a science center under the same roof.
